Join the EurOMA Summer School in Udine for a week of research conversations, lectures, workshops and shared reflection on the choices that shape an Operations and Supply Chain Management (O-SCM) researcher.

Four cardinal points

Personal purpose connects your values, questions and the communities your research serves. Disciplinary conventions help you develop rigorous questions and choose credible methods. Academic demands bring publishing expectations and institutional priorities into view. Societal expectations challenge you to consider the relevance and impact of your work beyond academia. Together, these four points form the researcher's compass: a way to reflect on the choices, tensions and opportunities that shape your doctoral project and build a coherent research trajectory that is meaningful to you.

Udine, Trieste & Venice

Udine is the home base for a week that combines research, conversation and cultural discovery. Sessions at Palazzo Antonini place you in the city's historic centre, with opportunities to get to know fellow participants beyond the classroom. On Wednesday, the programme takes you to Trieste for a group lunch, sightseeing and informal networking. On Friday, continue to Venice for a research session, a shared pizza lunch and a guided visit, including St Mark's Square. Three cities provide different settings for learning, exchange and new connections.

Who will take part?

The school will feature contributors from Bozen-Bolzano, Copenhagen Business School, Esade, Groningen, Padua, Politecnico di Milano, Trento and Warwick. Through lectures, workshops and PhD-led conversations, you will encounter different research traditions and experiences of academic life. The organising team will be involved throughout the week, helping to create an environment for open discussion and exchange of ideas.
